In Development

I’m publishing a series of working papers examining specific economic, legal, financial, and institutional aspects of Commons Capitalism. The papers will be published under CC Economics, submitted to SSRN for broader scholarly circulation, and, as the analysis develops, incorporated into the Commons Capitalism Treatise. They are intended both to develop the economic foundations of Commons Capitalism and to make that analysis available for examination, criticism, and further development. The first paper, Commons Capitalism: A Terminological and Conceptual Framework for Understanding the Commons Capitalism Entity, is currently being prepared for publication. Additional papers will address worker cooperatives, financing, governance, scaling, and intergenerational stewardship.

The Treatise, starting with Part I, Chapter I, which will discuss “Why Commons Capitalism?” because readers need to know why it is important to the United States economy.

The contents of Part I — The Foundations of Commons Capitalism, Chapter 1 — Why Commons Capitalism? are, tentatively:

  1. 1.1. The Problem of Productivity, Pay, and Surplus
    1.2. The Missing Worker-Benefiting Enterprise Form
    1.3. .  .  . 1.10. Why Intergenerational Development Must Begin Now

After a few Sections are prepared for Chapter 1, I want to start providing the Treatise as a PDF through a download link to give readers the unified work with:

  • The original section-numbering convention;
  • Continuous footnote numbering;
  • A clickable table of contents;
  • Internal links and bookmarks;
  • A running bibliography and appendices;
  • Consistent page numbers, headings, and formatting.

Forms: Articles of Incorporation for a Foundational CCE and Constitutional Documents for intergenerational stewardship of Surplus
